Abstract

1,066,631. Road material spreading devices. LIMMER & TRINIDAD CO. Ltd. Nov. 26, 1964 [Aug. 30, 1963], No. 34328/63. Heading E1G. Bitumen or like sealing composition discharged from a container 18 through a plurality of variable orifices 19 is spread by an inclined brush 22, adjustable for height, and is subjected to brushing in the reverse direction by a rotating brush 23 driven at a higher peripheral velocity than the speed of the spreading device. A second spreading brush 26 may be mounted behind the rotating brush. The frame 12 of the device is mounted on skids 10 having side sealing strips 11 of rubber and is mounted on wheels 14, 16 for height adjustment or towing. The brush 23 is chain driven from a wheel 25 on a swing link 25a.
