Abstract

A dry film lubricant composition consists essentially in weight percentages of:- <TABS:1066413/C4-C5/1> the glass frit consisting essentially of:- <TABS:1066413/C4-C5/2> A number of examples are given. An organic solvent is used to make a slurry of the mixture and the metal bearings or other metal surfaces are cleaned, coated, e.g. with Cr, coated as by dipping, in the slurry, dried and fired to vitrify the glass and secure the coating to the metal, at 900-1100 DEG F.ALSO:A dry film lubricant composition consists essentially in weight percentages of: <TABS:1066413/C1/1> the glass frit consisting essentially of: <TABS:1066413/C1/2> A number of examples are given. An organic solvent is used to make a slurry of the mixture and the metal bearings or other metal surfaces are cleaned, coated, e.g. with Cr, coated, as by dipping, in the slurry, dried and fired to vitrify the glass and secure the coating to the metal, at 900-1100 DEG F.
