Abstract

Cycloalkanone oximes are obtained by the photonitrosation of cycloalkanes, under irradiation of light from a thalium lamp, while maintaining the concentration of nitrosating agent in the reaction system at the equivalent of 0.15-0.8 weight per cent nitrosyl chloride. Specified starting materials are cyclohexane, cyclooctane and cyclododecane.
