Abstract

1,066,069. Waterproof footwear, protective hose. E. P. FRANKLIN. March 7, 1966 [Dec. 5, 1964], No. 49596/64. Headings A3B and A3V. [Also in Division A5] A device to prevent a bandage or plaster casing on the leg from becoming wet comprises a waterproof covering including a foot portion to extend over the foot of the wearer and a leg portion to extend over at least part of the leg of the wearer. The leg portion is formed, at or near the end remote from the foot portion, with a chamber having an outer wall and a flexible inner wall, the chamber being arranged to surround the leg and being adapted to be inflated to cause the flexible inner wall to engage the leg and so form a watertight seal. As illustrated in Fig. 1, the inner wall may be formed to provide a plurality of flexible sealing rings adapted to engage the leg when the chamber is inflated. The device may terminate either above or below the knee, as required.
