Abstract

Homogeneous mixtures of silicic acid and rubber are produced by the co-precipitation by means of an acid of an alkali silicate solution and a synthetic rubber latex having a viscosity number of from 0.8 to 2.0. In the examples a butadiene/styrene dispersion is mixed with sodium silicate and aqueous NaCl, and is precipitated with dilute H2SO4 with heating in known manner.
