1,065,311. Vehicle bodies. JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd. Oct. 22, 1963 [Nov. 27, 1962], No. 44840/62. Heading B7B. A road vehicle has a basic body structure comprising a floor panel 32 with side sills 34, door pillars 33, cowl panel 31, windshield pillars 35, and a framework 36. Secured to the cowl panel 31 are panels 37, 38 which support the engine, front suspension assemblies and the bumper 42. The front part of the body is a one-piece plastic moulding including the radiator grille, lamp housings and outer wheel arches. The rear part of the body comprises the rear wheel arches, rear seat with its backrest, the boot and boot lid, and is formed by moulding in polypropylene so that the boot lid and hinge can be moulded integrally. The upper part of this rear section is grooved to receive the side and rear windows. The roof also of plastic has a downwardlyextending flange to cover the roof framework and is provided with an integral spigot to carry the rear view mirror and with integral sockets for interior lamps and connecting pieces for sun visors.
