Abstract

1,064,724. Bearings. SVENSKA ROTOR MASKINER A.B. Aug. 20, 1963 [Aug. 20, 1962], No. 32855/63. Heading F2A. [Also in Division F4] In a regenerative heat exchanger (see Division F4) a driving tube (5), Fig. 2 (not shown), is mounted on a stator by a combined radial and thrust bearing (6), (7) of P.T.F.E. having an oil feed (21). The stator bearing (7) is mounted on an annular bracket (9) spring-loaded away from a stator ring (10) to centre the bearing with respect to the stator, the spring (9f) may be replaced by a pneumatic or hydraulic ram or elastic material. In another embodiment, Fig. 4, the bearing (6) is flexibly mounted on a flange (8) of the tube (5) by bolts (9d<SP>1</SP>) spring mounted in sleeves (9b<SP>1</SP>) having pivots (9c<SP>1</SP>) which can rotate in shanks of brackets (9a<SP>1</SP>) attached to flange 8.
