Abstract

1,064,500. Controlling tractors. MASSEYFERGUSON-PERKINS Ltd. Nov. 17, 1964 [Nov. 30, 1963], No. 47353/63. Heading B7H. The lever 15 controlling the power lift mechanism of a tractor also, over that portion 16A of its travel corresponding to the operational position of the implement, actuates the tractor differential lock mechanism. The latter is actuated through a shaft 13A, crank 25 and a piston 27, which is normally held in the inoperative position by fluid pressure from the tractor main pump through lines 19 and 34. A valve spool 31B is normally held in the inoperative position, in which line 37 is connected to exhaust line 21, by a spring 41 and is moved into an operational position, determined by a stop 41A abutting the valve casing, by movement of the lever 15 into the range 16A, the lever 15 acting through a flexible cable 43 and spring 44. In the latter position of spool 31B, both sides of piston 27 are subjected to pressure, whereby, because of the greater area on one side, the piston 27 is moved whereby the differential lock is applied. The normal pedal for controlling the differential lock is attached to the shaft 13A and affords a visual indication of the position of the lock.
