Abstract

Novel fatty amine dioxides of the formula <FORM:1064188/C2/1> in which R1, R2, R3 and R4 independently represent methyl, ethyl or a group <FORM:1064188/C2/2> A represents hydrogen or methyl, n is 1 to 50, x + y is 6 to 22 and z is 0 to 2, are prepared by treating the corresponding fatty amines with a strong oxidizing agent, e.g. hydrogen peroxide, perbenzoic acid or Caro's acid.ALSO:Novel fatty amine dioxides of the formula <FORM:1064188/C3/1> in which R1, R2, R3 and R4 independently represent methyl, ethyl or a group <FORM:1064188/C3/2> A represents hydrogen or methyl, n is 1 to 50, x + y is 6 to 22 and z is 0 to 2, are prepared by treating the corresponding fatty amines with a strong oxidizing agent, e.g. hydrogen peroxide, perbenzoic acid or Caro's acid.
