Abstract

1,063,967. Rotary brushes. OSBORN MANUFACTURING CO. June 12, 1964 [June 20, 1963; April 28, 1964], No. 38784/66. Divided out of 1,063,966. Heading A4K. In a method of making ring brushes by forming a channel section ring from a sheet metal cylinder, the cylinder has an integral flange 5 of folded metal, to prevent it from contracting radially as the wall of channel 4 is bent up. The rims of ring 7 are simultaneously folded together, causing it to contract radially and clamp the bristles 2 against the base of channel 4. An adaptor (Figs. 6 and 7, not shown) is stamped from sheet metal and used to mount the brush section on an arbor. The sections may be secured together by locking strips (Fig. 9, not shown).
