Abstract
1,063,370. Seals. MANNESMANN A.G. Dec. 30, 1964 [Dec. 30, 1963], No. 52880/64. Heading F2B. [Also in Division F4] Laterally removable rollers 3 in a continuous strip annealing furnace (see Division F4) each have a seal comprising a two-part sleeve 15 connected by links 13 to an annular disc 12 in a housing 9, lamellae 17 on the sleeve and lamellµ 18 on the housing forming a labyrinthine arrangement. A flexible diaphragm 16 extends between the sleeve 15 and the disc 12. The housing 9 has a water-cooled sheet metal cover 10 provided with a guide 11 for said disc 12 and a protective gas inlet 19.
