Abstract

1,063,156. Hinging lids. DE LUXE READING CORPORATION. Feb. 15, 1966 [May 24, 1965], No. 6473/66. Heading B8P. A hinge joining two box parts comprises a tongue (17), Fig. 4 (not shown), integral with one box part and joined to it along a flexible area (18) defining the hinge axis, outwardly extending wings (21) integral with the tongue, a pair of slots (23) in the second box part to receive said wings, each wing having a hooked end (22) that engages a slot margin to hold the tongue flat against the area (24) between the slots, said tongue and the area between the slots being resilient so that the tongue may be forced over a wedge-shaped boss (25) on the said area between the slots to lock the parts together. The box may comprise a polypropylene base portion on which the flexible hinge axis may be formed and a clear plastics cover portion.
