Abstract

1,062,923. Insoles. D. G. TIBBITTS and M. TIBBITTS. June 8, 1964 [March 31, 1964], No. 23579/64. Heading A3B. A disposable insole 10 comprises a plurality of layers 12, 14, 16 of absorbent material joined together along their periphery, each layer consisting of a plurality of plies 18, 20, 22, 24 joined together by spaced spots of adhesive 26. Each ply may be transversely creped and the outer plies 18, 24 of each layer may be paper toweling and the inner plies 20, 22 may be industrial wadding material. The insole is made by placing spots of adhesive between the two inner plies 20, 22 of each layer, the plies being sufficiently permeable to allow the spots to join all the plies together. The layers are then superimposed and are severed to the required shape, the severing step pressing the layers into securing relationship at their edges.
