An extruded elastomer bridge expansion joint has at least one means for mating with a corresponding means on an adjoining bridge section or an adjoining extrusion. A tubular extrusion 1, having a gas space 4, has male 2 and female 3 dovetail mating means for connection with a bridge section or an adjoining extrusion. A solid structure 5 is also provided for extra strength.
