Abstract

1,062,666. Electrostatic recording apparatus. HITACHI Ltd. Sept.4, 1963, No.35013/63. Heading G2H. An electrostatic recording apparatus comprises a cathode ray tube 8 which reproduces an electrical signal as an optical image means for transferring a latent electrostatic charge image, formed from the optical image on a charged photo-conductive surface of a drum 9, to a film 14 coated with thermoplastic material, and means 18 for heating the thermoplastic material to form a deformation image by the electrostatic charge image. Examples of thermoplastic resins are ester gum, Cumar (Trade Mark), polystyrene and copolymers of styrene and butadiene. A Schlieren optical system 19 is provided between the heating device and take-up roll 18 for monitoring the images formed on the film 18. In another embodiment, Fig. 4 (not shown) light from the cathode ray tube passes through a multi-angle prism (28) rotated in synchronism with the drum (9). A discharge tube (29) projects a light beam through a slit (30), Fresnel mirror (31), and through film (14) on to the drum (9) to form a raster-like image.
