Abstract

1,062,582. Electric guitars. A. MEAZZI, R. MEAZZI, M. MEAZZI, and E. MEAZZI, [trading as FRATELLI MEAZZI], and F. CALDIRONI, and A. OLIVIERI. May 6, 1964 [May 7, 1963], No. 18791/64. Heading G5J. The outputs of the bass pick-up 12 and the treble pick-up 13 of an electric guitar are mixed in variable proportions by means of a potentiometer mounted in the guitar and adjustable by means of a lever 14. The lever position is indicated against a scale on a metallic plate 16 which also carries adjustable stops 34, 35. Variable resistors 24, 25 forming parts of R.C. circuits (Fig. 2, not shown) are provided to vary the tone of each pick-up output. The mixed outputs of the two pick-ups are amplified by cascade transistors the battery supply to which is through a mercury switch which cuts off the supply when the guitar is laid down.
