Abstract
In the production of moulded articles from thermoplastic polycarbonates based on dihydric phenols, there are used (a) copolycarbonates or (b) mixtures of homopolycarbonates and/or copolycarbonates, wherein (a) and (b) contain from 0.5 to 10 mol. per cent of the residues of b -alkenyl-substituted dihydric phenols based on the total content of the residues of dihydroxy compounds. Preferred substituted dihydric phenols are the monoallyl, diallyl, monomethallyl and dimethallyl substituted hydroquinone, 4:41 - dihydroxydiphenyl or the bis - (4 - phenylol) - alkanes, -ethers, -sulphides, -sulphoxides or sulphones. The other dihydroxy component of the polycarbonates may be any of the usual dihydric phenols or mixtures thereof with dihydric alcohols. Examples describe the production of mouldings from a copolycarbonate of bisphenol A and 3,31-diallyl-bisphenol A or a mixture of such a copolycarbonate with a homopolycarbonate of bisphenol A.
