Abstract

Polymer mixtures consisting of (a) 80-99 wt.% polycarbonate contg. recurring units. (where A is an opt. halo- or alkyl-substd. phenylene gp. Y and Z are each H, hydrocarbon gps. free of aliphatic unsatn. or gps. forming cycloalkanes with the C atom, with the proviso that the total C atom content of Y and Z is is not >12); and (b) 20-1 wt.% polyacrylate elastomer obtained by polymsn. of a monomeric unsubstd. alkyl acrylate contg. 2-8C atoms in the alkyl gp. In contrast to pure polycarbonates, the notch impact strength of these mixtures does not diminish with the increasing dimensions of articles produced from this material. Other mech. and thermal properties of this material are also very good.
