Abstract

1,061,214. Laminates. PHILIP CAREY MANUFACTURING CO. Aug. 4, 1964 [Dec. 20, 1963], No. 31437/64. Heading B5N. Vapour barrier sheet material comprises a layer 2 of asphaltic or other bituminous mastic sandwiched between asbestos felt sheets 1 saturated with bitumen and sealed on their outer surfaces with a coating 3 of bitumen having thereon a thin coating 5 of anti-stick material such as slate flour, mica or powdered limestone or oyster shell, or soap. A reinforcement of glass fibres 4, in parallel, random or continuous thread form, may be incorporated in the asbestos felt or a preformed glass fibre mat or open-mesh glass scrim may form an intermediate layer of the laminate. The layer 2 may include fillers such as the above.
