Abstract
1,061,196. Centrifugal casting machines. ZIMMERMANN & JANSEN G.m.b.H., and SIEGERLANDER KUPFERWERKE G.m.b.H. Oct. 25, 1963 [Oct. 27, 1962; Nov. 19, 1962], No. 42187/63. Heading B3F. Apparatus for centrifugal casting comprises a moulding box mounted on a rotatable table and containing cores from which extend a plurality of pipes to assist the escape of gases. A moulding box 18 for casting a hollow valvepiece (not shown) contains cores 1 held in position by pipes 17 which project outside the box and have a number of radial holes 19. The parts of the pipes outside the cores may be protected by sleeves 23. In one modification a core is supported by upwardly projecting pipes and in another the pipes project radially inwards from a circular core. A number of mould boxes (26) are mounted on a rotating table (27) (Fig. 1, not shown) and are fed with molten metal from a central gate (24) through passages (25).
