Abstract
106,102. Doughty, C. Feb. 10, 1916. Cylinder offset machines.-Kinematograph and lantern slides bearing announcements are produced by means of a portable offset printing-machine. The announcement is set up at one end of a bed b in ordinary type a secured either by ordinary printer's furniture c or by adjustable clamps, and the glass slide e is placed upon a bed d positioned at the other end of the bed b by an adjustable stop f. Ink is worked up on a zinc or other slab and transferred to the type by a hand-roller. The impression is then transferred to the slide by a hand-roller i which runs on the upstanding edges j of the bed b and is guided either by a handle or by loose disks k which engage the sides of the bed b. The roller i may be mounted in a vertically adjustable frame and may be provided with wheels gearing into racks on the bed. The device and its adjuncts are enclosed in a box.
