Abstract

A process for the polymerization of colaurolactam comprises passing carbon dioxide through a liquid reaction medium containing o -laurolactam and an alkaline catalyst, the polymerization being effected either in the melt at 160-185 DEG C., or at 125-150 DEG C. in the presence of an inert non-polar liquid in which the o -laurolactam is dispersed or dissolved.
