Abstract

106,060. Hornby, A. E. Dec. 5, 1916. Valve-discharge waterwaste preventers. - Relates to closed apparatus, having simultaneously operated supply and discharge valves, and an air inlet sealed by a float valve. The discharge valve d is of the disk disk type, and is seated on a partition h dividing the flushing-chamber b<1> into two parts. The valve-rod d' terminates in a slotted fork d<2>, which surrounds the pivot f<1> and cam f<2> on the lower end of a tilting handle f. A spring e, with adjustable compression, forces the fork d<2> against the cam f<2> and so opens the valve d when the handle f is pulled down by a chain l. This movement simultaneously closes the inlet valve c<2>, which is separate and has a separate connecting pipe, through the medium of the rotation of the pivot f<1>, Fig. 4. A spring a<1> on the pivot f<1> returns the handle f to its upright position.
