Abstract

1,060,184. Dashpots. HYDROWAY SCALES Inc. Feb. 22, 1965 [April 9, 1964], No. 7620/65. Heading F2S. [Also in Division G1 Dashpots for use in weighing apparatus each comprise a cylinder 75 which contains oil and into which a pistonrod 82 attached to an actuating part of the weighing apparatus is axially movable. A disc-shaped piston 80 having holes 94 therein and a plate 95 are slidably mounted between two fixed stops 98, 99 on the piston-rod 82, a spring 96 being mounted between the piston 80 and the plate and arranged during movement of the rod to be so compressed due to action of the oil that the plate 95 and piston become so relatively positioned as to restrict the flow of oil through the holes 94 and thereby to cause damped movement of the rod. To prevent leakage of oil when the dashpot is tilted and not in use, a sealing ring 111 attached to a fitting on the piston-rod 82 is arranged to fit tightly within the top of the cylinder 75.
