A floor or wall covering in the form of a sheet or slab comprises a sheet of hardboard or other similar material and, adhesively bound thereto, a resilient sheet or slab comprising waste rubber in solid form ground, diced, or dissected into irregular shapes and graded to predetermined sizes to produce a multigranular aggregate which has been mixed with a synthetic resin or natural rubber adhesive and moulded. The sheet may have a softer face than the centre layer either by reason of the adhesive used or the size of the waste rubber shapes.
