Abstract
1,058,897. Feeding webs. TELDIX LUFTFAHRT-ASRUSTUNGS G.m.b.H. May 11. 1965 [May 13, 1964], No. 19791/65. Heading B6B. [Also in Divisions G1 and G5] In a vehicle position indicator the tension in a map I wound from one reel to another is maintained by a cord 18 wound from one helically grooved cone-pulley to another, a stressed torsion spring 16 being provided in the drive from one conepulley to a reel. Reduction gears 7 and 8 are provided in drives between the cone-pulleys and the reels. As the cone-pulleys rotate in the same direction, the variations in the lever arms effective at the conepulleys are opposed to each other. The double arrow 6 represents the movement of an indicator. When a vehicle moves a specific distance, a navigation computer applies a voltage Ux proportional to this distance. Motor 23 is therefore driven to move the map I below the indicator (not illustrated). Movement of the map is measured by a pinwheel 29 which moves the slider 26 of a potentiometer 27. When the voltage Up from the potentiometer balances the voltage Ux, the motor 23 stops, and the map has moved the required specific distance. To prevent the cord 18 from chafing, one of the cone-pulleys may be mounted for axial movement relative to the other. This movement is achieved with a guide member 49, Fig. 2 (not shown) or 65, Figs. 3 to 5 (not shown), which guide member is mounted for rectilinear movement in screw connection with both cone-pulleys.
