1,058,774. Determining vertical deviations in railway track. F. PLASSER [trading as FRANZ PLASSER BAHNBAUMASCHINEN]. Oct. 18, 1963 [Oct. 26, 1962], No. 41265/63. Heading G1X. Apparatus for ascertaining curves occurring in a vertical plane in railway tracks comprises a truck assembly having two trucks parts 11, 12 pivotally connected so that the pivoting angle indicates on a device 15 mounted there between the degree of track curvature. The two trucks parts are constructed in the form of bell-crank levers 11, 12 the upper ends of which jointly carry the indicating device. The indicating device may comprise at least one feeler projecting from each truck part and in sliding or rolling contact with the track, the feeler being pivotable relative to the track. The device may apply paint to the sleepers at high points or if the truck parts are self-propelled the drive may be automatically terminated at high points.
