1,058,733. Cine apparatus. RANK BUSH MURPHY Ltd. Aug. 12, 1965 [Aug. 14, 1964], No. 33202/64. Heading G2E. A mounting device for cine film spools has a spindle 1 with a spring-loaded two-position catch 2 which retains a spool 6 against the resiliently mounted cup-shaped guide 9 whose annular rims 13, padded at 14, engages the inner spool flange intermediate the hub and rim. The tubular portion 10 of guide 9 slides on enlarged part 8 of the spindle which also forms an axial locating member for the spool. In another form, spindle 1 is slotted longitudinally to receive a spring-loaded catch 4, pivoted at 25 into the spool retaining position under the camming action of nib 30 on notch 32 as a spool displaces guide 27 against spring 28, as in Fig. 4 (not shown). A spring-loaded cranked catch may alternatively be carried in the slotted spindle.
