A two-pole connector for use in a fire alarm circuit has steel pins or sockets with a sleeve of aluminium around one of the pins or sockets and in contact with it so that any current resulting from the electrochemical potential developed as a result of moisture between the pins is in opposition to the charging current produced by the circuit. The risk of inadvertent operation due to the presence of moisture is thus reduced.
