Abstract
1,057,320. Photographic shutters. AGFA A.G. Dec.12, 1963 [Dec. 19, 1962; March 15, 1963], No.49180/63. Heading G2A. A photographic shutter is of the type having two shutter elements each capable of masking a shutter aperture, the elements being movable in the same direction against individual spring loading from a position in which one of the elements masks the aperture into a tensioned position in which the other element masks the aperture, and means being provided for releasing the elements from tensioned position for running down with a time interval between them, so that the other element exposes the aperture and the one element follows to close the aperture. The releasing means is such as to free the shutter elements simultaneously, the time interval being determined by a shutter speed regulating mechanism having a retarding effect on the one shutter element. In one embodiment, as applied to a sliding plate shutter, slide elements 53, 54, Fig. 2, have pin and slot guides 55, 56. The elements are loaded by springs 57, 58. The slide element 53 has a manual setting lever 62 and an edge 64 co-operating with a release lever 63. The slide element 54 has a lug 65 for co-operation with a retarding lever 66 of a shutter regulating mechanism. The lever 66 is set by a speed setting lever 67 having a control cam 71 engaging a pin 72. Lever 63 is rocked counter clockwise to release the slide elements 53, 54 which move in the direction 73 under the action of springs 57, 58. For flash synchronization, the slide element 53 may also be subjected to a retarding mechanism. In another embodiment as applied to an everset shutter with pivoted blades (29, 30), Fig. 1 (not shown), a tensioning lever (5) and a weighted disc(6) are pivoted on pivots (7, 8). The disc (6) is loaded by a return spring (19) and has a pin (20) co-operating with a lever (3) and set by a shutter speed control cam (22) engaging a pin (21), so that on release of the shutter, masking of shutter aperture (31) by the blade (29) takes place after a predetermined time depending on the retardation of lever (3) by pin (20).
