Abstract
773,258. Photographic shutters. VEB ZEISS IKON DRESDEN. June 21, 1955 No. 17910/55. Class 98(1) In a photographic multiple-blade shutter having blades oscillated for effecting exposure by two blade-driving rings, the rings are released consecutively from their set positions and the time interval between the release of the two.rings is determined by control means provided with its own force-storing means and delayed by retarding mechanism, the control means causing the second ring to run off after the control means has been released as a result of the running off movement of the first ring. As shown, the blades 6 are pivoted at 12 and 13 on the rings 1 and 2 urged clockwise by springs 4 and 5. The setting lever 3 rotates the ring 1 anticlockwise until the lug 16 thereon is eiigaged by the trigger 11, and the nose 15 on the ring 1 engages the lug 14 on the ring 2 to rotate the ring 2 until the lug 14 is engaged by the pawl 10. At the same time, the pin 17 on the ring 1 rotates the control member 7 clockwise against its spring 8. The toothed segment 18 of the retarding escapement is urged towards operative position by the spring 21, and a pin 19 thereon engages a setting cam 20. When the trigger 11 is operated the ring 1 rotates to open the shutter blades, and the consequential movement of the control means 7 is retarded by the engagement of the lug 9 with the toothed segment 18. After a time controlled by the position of the cam 20, the pin 22 on the control means 7 engages the arm 23 of the pawl 10 and releases the ring 2 to rotate to close the shutter. With a non-setting shutter, the member 3 may disengage from the ring 1 at the appropriate point.
