Abstract
1,056,625. Flame detecting electric circuits. DANFOSS A.S. July 27, 1965 [Aug. 7, 1964], No. 32022/65. Heading F4T. An A.C.-operated flame control apparatus for a D.C. relay 8 comprises a condenser 21 connected to a flame electrode 17 so as to be charged by the rectified current through the flame and a second condenser 29 which follows the A.C. supply voltage and is arranged in series with the first condenser 21 and with a glow discharge tube 30, the sum of the voltages on the two condensers causing the glow discharge tube to ignite during alternate halfcycles. The current through the discharge tube 30 develops a voltage across a response resistor 20 and this voltage is applied to the control electrode 25 of a diode 24 in series with the relay 8. The diode 24 therefore conducts during each half-cycle and operates the relay 8. The mains A.C. supply is provided with a voltage divider comprising a resistance 4 and a voltage dependent resistor 5. A surge voltage protector glow tube 28 is provided.
