Abstract
Alkali metal, alkaline earth metal, ammonium, quaternary ammonium and organoammonium salts of mono-organo-fluorosilicic acids are prepared by reacting an organotrifluoro-silane with a salt of hydrofluoric acid. A precursor, e.g. an organo-trihalosilane, may be used in place of the organo-trifluorosilane, fluoridization and complex formation taking place in one step. Less soluble salts may be obtained from more soluble salts by double decomposition. Examples of organo-groups are methyl, ethyl, and phenyl.
