Abstract

1,055,806. Photographic cameras; exposure control systems. PENTACON DRESDEN, KAMERA-UND KINOWERKE VEB. March 13, 1964, No. 10680/64. Heading G2A. A camera lens diaphragm may be set manually or automatically. For automatic operation, the shutter drive ring 2 is rotated anticlockwise by means of lever. 3 until nose 4 is engaged by shutter release arm 5. Lug 6 on ring 2 engages lug 7 on diaphragm setting ring 1 which is thereby carried with ring 2 against spring-loaded sensing slider 11 to which it is linked by spring 12. When arm 5 is released, ring 1 and slider 11 follow the run-down of ring 2 due to spring 13, until cam 14 strikes pointer 15 of the galvanometer of a light meter. The diaphragm is then set. For manual operation independently of the light meter, mark 26 is set against aperture scale 25, so that cam 22 leaves catch lever 20 which is then spring- rotated until it abuts pin 18 on ring 1. When the shutter is released, pin 18 enters fork 19 whereby ring 1 is rotated by spring 21 until lever 20 touches control cam 22. If slider 11 is already against pointer 15, ring 1 is lifted away from the slider against the weaker spring 12. In a modification, lever 20 has a pin which enters a camming slot in member 24.
