A device for use in sealing leaks in spigot- and-socket joints comprises a gasket 26 encircling the spigot, a rigid follower ring 34 having a frusto-conical gasket-compressing surface 38 and circumferentially spaced, radial, apertured projections 46 for draw bolts 36 provided with hook ends 80 which engage the hook portion 62 of an anchor ring 32 formed of a number of parts and with abutments 64 which engage the shoulder 20 of the socket. The gasket 26 is formed with a part 28 of harder rubber and is reinforced by a metal band 30.
