Abstract

1,053,838. Excess current protection. LICENTIA PATENT - VERWALTUNGS G.m.b.H. May 21, 1964, No. 21048/64. Heading H2H. [Also in Division HIT] A superconductive transformer TR or other device is protected against overloads by a series reactor having either superconductive or non-superconductive windings with a core or enclosure of superconductive metal sheets, which property is destroyed on overloading of the transformer. The metal sheets at the ends of the enclosure St 1 , St 2 should be made as thin as possible and a by-pass may be connected across the reactor to enable the transformer to be used during the cool down period of the reactor.
