Abstract
1,053,225. Seats. MECANALDS Ltd. Sept. 30, 1964 [Oct. 2, 1963], No. 38727/63. Heading A4J. [Also in Division B8] A seat 2 for use with the invalid hoist 1 (see Division B8) comprises a tubular frame supporting a moulded base 33 and back 34 of a synthetic plastic material, the base being provided with bores within which a leg rest 43 may be mounted and the back being provided with sockets for arm rests 47 which can be turned back behind the seat while the invalid is being positioned on the seat and then replaced to retain the invalid in position. The base 33 is formed with a central cut-out aperture, Fig. 6 (not shown), so that it can serve as a commode and a removable moulded closure member may be provided to fill in the cut-out aperture when not required. The seat may be used in conjunction with a wheeled trolley 48 formed with two forwardly-directed members, which engage in the rear ends of the two bores in the base 33, and mounted on castors 51.
