Abstract
1,052,833. Cradles for sheet material; bundling sheet material. GLACES DE BOUSSOIS. May 21, 1965 [May 26, 1964], No. 21696/65. Headings B8C and B8H. Sheets of material 1, e.g. glass, are supported on edge by feet 26 of a cradle which comprises stanchions 2 and frame members 3, 4, 5, and are clamped in position by adjustable arms 6. Pressure plates 18 are supported in longitudinal slots in the arms 6 by adjusting screws 16. Bars 52 are adjustably supported between feet 26 and top brackets 25 and have plates 50 which provide lateral support for the sheets. Holes in the arms 25, 26 are engaged by pins on the bars 52. The arms 25, 26 may be rotated through 90 degrees to an inoperative position to' save stowage space. Pins 68 hold the arms in both operative and inoperative positions. To facilitate loading, the cradle may be supported in a tilted-back attitude by a stand 61, Fig. 10 (not shown). Adjacent cradles may be clipped together to ensure stability during transit by members 67, Fig. 13 (not shown), which engage sleeves 20a, 20b, 45a, 45b.
