[Also in Division G2] A reflex reflecting sheet comprising a series of lenslike formations 10 on the front and a series of similar reflective formations 12 on the rear surface, the spacing between the formations being different on each surface so that the formations phase in and out of alignment across the width of the sheet, is formed from two embossed sheets which are laminated together. The two sheets may be of methyl methacrylate, cellulose acetate, propionate, butyrate or nitrate, P.V.C., polystyrene, polycarbonate, polythene, polypropylene or polyethylene terephthalate and may be fed to a pair of pinch rolls 104, 106, Fig. 14, not shown, as a solvent such as acetone or ethylene dichloride is applied to their mating surfaces to soften them for lamination, the composite strip being coiled and the residual solvent allowed to evaporate therefrom. The two sheets may have the embossments differently spaced, of slightly different size or equally spaced along axes which are not aligned when the two are laminated. Alternatively two sheets may be identically embossed and one stretched or shrunk before lamination. The rear reflective formations may be formed by chemical or vacuum deposition of metal and may be partially coloured at the crown or around a torus before the reflective coating 14 is applied.
