Abstract
1,052,001. Reciprocating pumps and motors. E.A. SIMMONS. April 12, 1965 [April 13, 1964]. No.15448/65. Heading F1A. In a hydraulic pump or motor a spider-like piston assembly 51 rotates about a pintle having parts 86, 87 leading to inlet and outlet connections. A cylinder 70 is reciprocably mounted on each piston 52 and has a slipper surface engaging a bearing 72 in a race 35 the eccentricity of which relative to the pintle is adjustable by pressure introduced into part 36 or 37, and acting directly on one side of the race. The slipper surfaces have recesses 103 Fig. 4A, (not shown) fed with liquid from the cylinder. Each cylinder has a recess 76 Fig. 4B, (not shown) engaged by a ring 77 Fig.2, (not shown) to locate the cylinders in position. The bearing rings 60 and cylinders 70 are of hardened steel.
