Abstract
105,191. Smith, H. S. Aug. 28, 1916. Rollers.-Wooden batch rollers of the sectional type, for winding fabrics, paper, &c., are constructed in two or four sections dovetailed together parallel to the axis, as shown in Figs. 2 and 3. The two sections a, b, Fig. 2, have the dovetail joint a<1>, b<1>, and the four sections a, b, Fig. 3, have four dovetail joints a<1>, b<1>, formed as shown. The joints are preferably glued, and pieces of corrugated steel c, Fig. 2, may be driven into the ends for additional security.
