Abstract

1,051,880. Windscreen wipers. D. NAPIER & SON Ltd. March 19, 1964 [Dec. 20, 1962], No. 48201/62. Heading A4F. Air or other gas is supplied to the interior of a windscreen wiper blade 11 to be discharged through a slot or apertures on to the windscreen to clean the latter without contact being made between the blade and the screen. In the embodiment illustrated heated compressed air supplied through an inlet 27 flows partly through the hollow wiper spindle 17 to the blade 11, and partly through a passage 28 to a compressed air motor for oscillating the blade 11.
