[Also in Division D1] A method of storing a ripcord for a release device of an inflatable life raft comprises forming the ripcord into a chain of open loops, placing the thus formed chain in a container having one open side so that the free ends of the cord forming the chain project out of said container through the open side, and sealing said open side of the container.
