Abstract
1,050,386. Laminates. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. May 13, 1965 [June 4, 1964], No. 23224/64. Heading B5N. [Also in Division H5] A ceiling tile or panel for space heating comprises a facing layer, e.g. of plasterboard, asbestos sheeting, P.V.C., polystyrene or polyalkylene, a layer of electrically conducting material such as carbon-loaded rubber or a conducting silicone as described in Specification 1,027,051, which layer may have a backing of paper or woven or unwoven glass or polyester fibre, and a thermally insulating layer, e.g. of polyurethane foam. The electricallyconductive layer may carry electrodes, e.g. of copper wire, foil or gauze, attached to opposite edges by sewing, weaving or stapling. The facing layer may be of shallow tray form enclosing the other components, and may be decorated. The tiles may be of rectangular, triangular or hexagonal shape, and an assembly thereof may be bonded to plasterboard or the like and connected in series-parallel.
