Abstract
1,050,105. Mineral-mining installations. A. OELLRICH [trading as MASCHINENFABRIK UND EISENGIESSEREI] Aug. 21, 1963 [Sept. 6, 1962], No. 33137/63. Heading E1F. In a mineral-mining installation in which a mining machine 5 is hauled to and fro along a conveyer 1 the conveyer is driven by two motors 3, 4 coupled to a gear unit 2 of the drive head of the conveyer, one motor 3 providing a constant power output of a magnitude less than the maximum power required for driving the conveyer whilst the other motor 4, a variable power output hydraulic motor, is so hydraulically coupled to a similar variable power output hydraulic motor 8 that there can be a power exchange between the motors, which are powered from a common pump 15, that the additional power can be supplied for driving the conveyer as and when required. A constant power output motor 18 of an output less than the maximum power required for hauling the mining machine may be coupled with the hydraulic motor driving the mining machine. Valve means 19 allow of all the available power being applied to the conveyer, of series connection for load sharing purposes of the two hydraulic motors and reversal of the drive of the mining machine haulage means.
