Abstract

1,049,726. Lawn mowers. O. M. SCOTT & SONS CO. Aug. 17, 1964, No. 33465/64. Heading A1F. In a lawn mower of the reel type means are provided for simultaneously adjusting the roller 86 and the drive wheels 52 with respect to the cutter reel axis 16. Rotation of an actuating mechanism 91 from the position shown to extend rod 126 from bracket 140 is transmitted via linkages 94, 94<SP>1</SP> on either side of the mower to the wheel supports 32 causing them to rotate to vertically alter the position of the wheels with respect to the reel axis and the ledger Blade 84. The rotation of each support 32 is transmitted through lever arm 174 and linkage assemblies 96 to move a bolt 108 connected to the roller support brackets 90 vertically in slot 102 thereby adjusting the roller. The ledger blade 84 is adjustable by means of turnbuckles 98. The roller 86 may be replaced by two wheels mounted one at each side of the mower.
