For preparing journal sheets a two-ply roll of paper 1 is employed, the entries on the top ply 3 being duplicated on the journal ply 2 which has equally-spaced lines of tearing-off perforations 4 and, adjacent to the lines of perforations, lines of holes 5 whereby a separated journal sheet can be filed. The top ply 3 has marks 6 situated to the rear of the separation lines 4 to indicate to the operator when he should complete a journal sheet.
