Abstract

<PICT:1049092/C4-C5/1> A volatile liquid, such as propane or butane, is vaporized in a heated vessel 12 which is connected to a storage vessel 10 by a liquid-supply pipe 13, and by another connection 14, 16 joining the vapour-space of the tank to the vapour-space of the heated vessel, this vapour-connection having a constriction 15 associated with a pressure-differential responsive device 20 which controls the output of the heating means of the vessel 12. The apparatus ensures that the gas delivered through throttling-valve 22 is of substantially constant composition. The vessel 12 is heated by a bundle of tubes supplied with steam through line 17, the steam-valve 19 being actuated by control-means 21 which are connected to device 20. The upper part of vessel 12 is a disengagement column.
