Abstract

1,047,817. Sockets for posts. F. A. H. HAGEBY. April 24, 1964 [April 26, 1963], No. 17118/64. Heading E1B. A galvanized or other post 3 is secured in a conical channel 2 of a concrete base block 1 by compression of a rubber-like element 5 lying between the post 3 and an annular recess 4 in the block 1, the rubber being compressed either by driving in pins or screws 8, or by brushing soil on the rubber so that it swells. As shown the rubber comprises packing 5b in a flanged element 5. The lower end of the post (not shown) contacts the walls of channel 2.
