Calcium superphosphate.-A connexion between the mixing-pot f and a travelling superphosphate reaction chamber a comprises a fixed hood g connected with the mixing-pot f and having an exhaust passage h and an upturned rim i for a liquid or sand joint with an intermediate frame k, the upper part k<2> of which makes connexion with the rim i, while the lower part k<1> makes a flat joint with the top of the reaction vessel or with a fixed frame c, d, e<1> thereon. The frame k is heavy, and air-tight joints are produced owing to its weight. When the vessel a is to be moved, the frame k is raised a short distance by suitable gearing. The gearing may be arranged so that downward pressure may be applied to the frame k. As shown, the fixed frame consists of side pieces c, an end piece d, and an extension e' of the front cover e.
